Vasalisa the Wise Earrings

We do not begin wise. We become wise.

Drop earrings in banded yellow calcite — warm, striated, and deliberately asymmetrical. No two stones are identical. The banding runs cream and white through a ground of pale amber and gold, the natural strata of the mineral laid down over time. They are not perfectly matched. That was the point.

A small feldspar bead — grey, cream, and black-flecked — sits above each stone, and a bone rondelle below. 18k gold-plated sterling silver ear hooks. Designed to wear with the Vasalisa necklace. Striking on their own.

Calcite — also known as Icelandic Spar — was used by Norse navigators to locate the sun on overcast days, finding direction when none was visible. A stone of clarity and perception. In the Vasalisa story, it is the inner flame: the ability to find your bearing when the sky gives you nothing to work with.

The Materials

Banded yellow calcite (Icelandic Spar) — the drop. Warm amber and pale gold with cream strata running through each stone. Asymmetrical by design — each earring its own.

Feldspar bead — grey, cream, and black-flecked. Sits above the calcite. Associated with intuition and the strengthening of inner knowing.

Bone rondelle — below the calcite. Carries what stone cannot.
