※ AESTHETE ※
(/ˈesˌTHēt/ noun: a person who has or affects to have a special appreciation of art and beauty)
If you're here, you're likely an aesthete too—someone who responds deeply to beauty in nature, art, culture, religion or myth. I created BohoHaus for women like us. It was born from a moment of transformation—a creative outlet during life's inevitable changes and a quiet rebellion against stagnation and conformity in my own life.
During this time of transition, seeking and creating beauty served as a nurturing balm that softened the world's hard edges: calming its tumult and coloring its wan palette. In short, it amplified what was good in life. As women, our world "speaks" to us. The way we experience our environment is often relational, conversational, and imaginative: the dishes cry they need to be done, the paperwork demands to be completed, the car screams for a washing; voices shouting to strive, produce, perform. These voices are often harsh and critical. Those voices, reminding us of all those things left undone or imperfect, are unrelenting and often we are exhausted by the grasping of it all.
As a counter to those voices, I wanted to create something that speaks to women differently—something that calls forth beauty, femininity, creativity and receptivity. Something that honors the ancient, sacred practice of womanly adornment that has been an expression of divine feminine energy since our beginning.
In the hustle of modern living, women have lost this rich and rewarding ritual, and in losing it, we have surrendered something precious. BohoHaus exists to reclaim that ritual—to bridge the gap between ancient traditions of ornation and today's need for ready-to-wear elegance.
More than just an accessory, each handmade, never re-created piece was inspired by women's stories and myths that serve to help tell yours. This is intentional beauty that transforms you, breaks the spell of sameness, and honors the feminine power you already carry.
I welcome you to BohoHaus.
