Scheherazade

She who listened her way to freedom.

Scheherazade did not survive by force. She survived by knowing — what to say, when to say it, and when to stop. For one thousand and one nights she listened to the room before she spoke into it. Her adornment was not vanity. These earrings are made from two things that should not belong together and do. A vintage filigree charm — ornate, gold-tone, the language of the court — suspended above a dark wood circle bisected by a gold bar. The civilized and the wild. The decorated and the raw. Scheherazade knew both registers. She moved between them without losing herself in either.
