The Materials

Carved wood barrel beads — large, deep navy, each ringed with horizontal ridges carved around the circumference — are the backbone of the piece. Bold and deliberate, they read from across a room.

Navy geometric wood beads — smaller, faceted — move between the barrels as connective forms, keeping the palette unified without interrupting the rhythm of the larger beads.

Milk quartz brings the white. Opaque and still, it is associated with calm and inner reflection — the counterpoint to the bold geometry of the navy wood.

Etched silver rondelles punctuate the strand at intervals — cool, crisp, a precise pause between the bold navy and the quiet white.

The pendant is the reason for the piece. The crescent itself is a found vintage element — oxidized silver-tone, dense with scrollwork: arabesques, geometric borders, layered ornament that rewards a close look. The suspension is original: a decorative bar with two fine chains, designed and constructed to give the crescent the presence and framing it deserved.

At the center of the crescent sits a smooth arc of mother of pearl.
