She who gathers the bones and sings.
In Clarissa Pinkola Estés' Women Who Run With the Wolves, La Loba roams the desert alone, collecting the scattered bones of wolves. When she has assembled a complete skeleton, she sings over it — and the wolf runs back into the river and emerges as a laughing woman. The archetype is not diminished in miniature. These earrings carry it whole.
A suspended impression jasper plank — the gathered bone — hangs below a stacked body of rough milk quartz, dark wood discs, and an etched gold-tone rondelle that crowns the body of the earring. The palette is desert and river, the construction raw and deliberate. Designed to coordinate with the La Loba necklace. Complete on their own.
The Materials
Impression jasper plank — flat, elongated, in terracotta and pale blue-grey with rust veining. Suspended as the drop.
Rough milk quartz barrel — small, faceted, chalky white. Raw and unpolished, like bones in the desert.
Dark wood discs — two, flanking the quartz. Grounding and primal.
Etched gold-tone rondelle — crowns the body of the earring.
18k gold-plated sterling silver ear hooks — finished throughout in gold.
